Help please! We failed out MOT due to the rear fog light not working - the garage changed the bulb, but this still did not work. We assumed, therefore, it was the fuse but more likely the wiring in some way. We cannot locate the correct fuse and wiring! We have tried everywhere and really need a plan of the electrics or some advice as to how to access the correct wiring for the rear fog light. We can see the wire as it leaves the light, but it then disappears and how we access it we do not know. Any help would be much appreciated.

These are the fuses for the J11 1.5DC i

I also have the service manual for the car which shows the Body Control Module (BCM) links the switch to the fog light so not the simple days of old where a switch allowed 12 volts to be supplied to the light. I previously had a similar issue with a Renault Scenic dipped beam, bulb was ok, checked by Renault to be told a computer moduke needed changing at £700. You can guess I didn't go that route and wired a relay off the other headlight power supply so that when the working channel was switched on the other headlight got power too.

Hopefully there is a simple fix because if its the BCM it could get expensive quickly.

I don't know how to upload a PDF file on here so I can't upload a copy of the relevant section. If anybody can advise how I do this please let me know. Alternatively if you private message me I can respond with a copy of the PDF

Best of luck.

Skip the PM bit I've copied the relevant section to an image above. My only other thought is havwe you changed the bulb to a non-CAN LED bulb?

Thank you so much! We are a little further forward….but now stumped! In the light cluster there are 3 connectors one for the reverse light, one for the fog light and another one (black and red wire) which goes live when the fog lights are switched on. Any idea what it is?? 🤷🏻‍♀️

UPDATE: we have done it!!! Turns out we probably never had a fog light working, and the previous MOTs have never checked it. A wire which should be fitted was not - so a really simple job in the end to just add a wire!! Hours of tearing the car apart for something so simple (and very annoying). Thank you for your help :)

I saw the above replies. But where was the wire missing from. Bulb is fine and they don't have a fuse
