Guys, has anyone else seen a 2017 1.6 diesel advertised with £35 road tax?
I have one near me I'm interested in.
I'm looking to upgrade to a J11 and I like the idea of the cheaper road tax.
Is this correct, as all the others I've looked at are £190?
I have the same engine in a J10 and it's £190.

Great little engine

Thanks , So is it the same 1.6 turbo Renault engine 130bhp all the way through they are using as mine is decent little engine and pulls well and has been reliable.
I can't find a single diesel that's £20 tax just a few of these mainly 2017 from what I can make out that are £35

My post is in regards to the 1.6, the 1.5 is gutless

Ok so now you know the price of tax go and get that car :D
You can always get the 1.7 qashqai and that will make the 1.6 gutless aswell then ;)

You're not correct with the 1.6, as I have stated. Older versions are £160 a year. I have no idea why you are going on about the 1.5.

My question is (and it's fine that you don't know the answer): "What's the difference in 1.6 diesel engines that are £160 a year" up to 2017, other than the lesser emissions?
Why the two tax brackets? The £35 (not £20) a year 1.6 is really hard to find. Most pre-2017 1.6 diesels are in the higher tax bracket.
I hope that's clear.

Ask the car sales when you go and pick your car up and see if they can shed some light on the emissions tax codes. Then post your answers on here when they tell you.
