Hello, the tailgate on my 2015 Accenta Preimium will no longer lock when I lock the other doors with the central locking. Has anyone had a similar problem?
Thanks for any advice!

....
How exactly do you lock the car and how do you know the tailgate has not locked?

Welcome to this forum.

According to the late 2015 brochure the Acenta Premium has an i-key - so:

Does it remain unlocked if you:

~ press the button on the door?
~ press the button on the bootlid?
~ press the button on the remote key?
~ use the key in the lock?

Thanks for the quick replies. The tailgate remains unlocked whichever of those methods I use to lock the car. I can always open it using the rubber button above the number plate. I think there must be some problem with the central locking connecting to the lock for the car tailgate.

The doors including tailgate are UNLOCKED via the Body Control Module (BCM). The rear door button is supposed to transmit door request UNLOCK and LOCK to BCM and then BCM transmits either tailgate actuator LOCK or UNLOCK.

Diagnostics state the following which doesn't help much?. When you lock the car does the internal lamp switch off after some time?

Operation Condition
If all of the following conditions are satisfied, door lock and unlock operation is performed using the door lock and unlock switch.

Door lock and unlock switch operation for LOCK/UNLOCK

• Doors are not locked by Intelligent Key, door request switch and auto door lock function
• Ignition position warning function is not activated

I don't quite understand the last bullet point here, which is its likely forbidden to lock doors with engine running? Dunno.

Please don’t be offended but can I just check whether you have the key with you when trying the tailgate ?
I’m sure you don’t, but it’s an fairly simple straightforward mistake to make

Thanks Mike, I think that's exactly my problem. I hadn't realised that, even though we've had the car for five years. Does that mean that the tailgate can always be opened using the button on it if the intelligent key is nearby, even though the other doors remain locked?
Many thanks for your help.

Dave1962, I think that’s exactly what it means.
I believe that only the tailgate unlocks with the rubber button (the four passenger doors remain locked)

Glad to be of assistance

Popping the button on the tailgate unlocks the whole car doesn't it?
