J12 BATTERY MANAGEMENT WARNING

I had a warning message come up yesterday that says "Battery Management fault - contact dealer. The next day it wasn't there,does anyone have a clue what this message means as there's nothing in the handbook that covers it. J12 Mild Hybrid

Not a clue, fella...but knowing Nissan they probably used the already dodgy Battery Management System out of the old J11b.

Welcome to this forum.

That's the first report of that J12 fault - and no one's found a link for a downloadable copy of the driver's manual yet so us non-J12 owners are a bit in the dark.

How are you finding the car otherwise?

Its either the 12v Batt starter system or the Electro assistance Batt...or both?

Hopefully its recorded a DTC?

Does this thing have a 12v standard Batt or is that part of the Power Assist Batt? I'd prefer a separate 12v Batt anyway.

I had a 2018 Qashqai before this one. Apart from that one issue (which has not reappeared since I made the post) I'm finding it a good upgrade from the previous version. The lights are brighter, and for me, having a choice of Eco Standard and Economy mode is a big step forward, as is the larger screen display.

I'm glad to report that after appearing just once the Battery Management Warning hasn't reappeared. Maybe it was just a glitch. If it appears again then I'll take a pic and upload it. Thanks for your responses

Took delivery of my J12 model on Monday. When I looked under the bonnet both the battery terminal covers were up. To me this means the battery was either disconnected, charged or boosted during pre delivery inspection. More worrying the salesman said to leave the engine running for a while if I was going straight home (10miles).

Good to hear it’s resolved itself, @MisterAW.

I experienced a glitch with the climate control this morning, whilst driving. The temperature was showing 22°C on the AirCon, I increased the fan speed and adjusted the air flow by pressing the buttons, which all lit up but there was only silence, no hot/cold air or anything. I had to press the Climate Control button Off and On again which brought it back to life

There is an update available for battery management but is only applied under customer complaint at this current time. But has probably already been implemented in production so only the first ones will probably get the issue.

Havent seen any issues with climate control yet.

Same problem here with mine.
They updated the software and replaced the eletric motor/alternator.
But the major problem persists. The throttle lag of 3 seconds some times on 1st and second gears.
Anyone with the same lag on J12?
