We never actually got to the point of replacing the bulb until today, everything stopped working the second he took the old bulb out, new bulb is now in still no lights, hubby thinks it’s the module, I think he’s popped a fuse, stubborn sod won’t check every fuse as he’s worried of doing more damage. I mean he couldn’t do much else it already won’t start. I may just do it myself as long as I’m not gonna damage anything else?

The internal lamps are managed via the Body Control Module (BCM). There is no specific fuse for these lamps, so this problem is a little complicated
Is the starter motor turning?
Is the starter motor turning?

Its difficult to tell at distance whether you have a Battery problem or the Car electronics (system) are switching all power off? Clearly there is a very sudden power disconnect....or significant drop.
Do you know whether the Battery is good enough to run this car in any way? Can you switch all headlights on for instance and leave them on for at least 2 minutes.
Doing tests like this might need a Battery charge at some point.

Logically from the electrical diagrams (Power)...if the headlamps don't cause a problem with sudden shut off then pretty much every thing works...like windscreen wipers, a/c fan, front fog lamps and likely the fuel pump. There are other things but likely not the issue.
The exception perhaps when you try to use the Starter relay and motor.
Do you hear a mechanical noise (relay clunk) when you turn the ignition switch to Start?

Yes that’s correct everything else working perfectly.
No, no noise at all.

Is your car an Auto or Manual gearbox?
And when you try to Start do the Ignition warning lights extinguish and stay off...or extinguish and return? This is without you turning the ignition switch to OFF
