This afternoon I pulled out my house went down the road with a slight hill and then went to ever so slightly brake while I veered left, however the brakes DIDN'T RESPOND , nor did the hand break. So in order to avoid an accident I was forced into a grass field , unfortunately to get on the field the car collided with a wooden pole guarding the field, so there is considerable damage done to the left hand side

While thankful that something a lot more serious didn't happen and I had a bail out option , this is alarming
The car is an automatic.

I'm really struggling to see how the car could of started , be in motion and both brakes failed.

Is this somehow driver error or is this a nissan problem ?

If I was a betting man, I’d put money on it being driver error. It is highly unlikely to the point of incredulity that the dual circuit brakes will have failed you. Strange things happen though. Get the insurer to instigate an engineer’s report, even though you should be aware that doing so could delay a payout by possibly months.

The hydraulic dual circuit foot brake and mechanical/electric hand brake are completely unconnected on any QQ as far as I know, whether electric or not. Hmm...

Well it certainly wasn't driver error. The car was in motion , the break was wholly unresponsive which assuming you agree shouldn't happen and the pathetic hand brake wouldn't work

I will say it really would be stretching incredulity to suggest that neither brake failed and that should never happen. However I certainly attempted to pull the hand brake up and no red light and the car still moved. Luckily I have less faith in this car and didn't drive on to see if it would stop and took instant action

It's really hard to decide who is responsible for it with just reading a post. Even the specialist can't decide by visiting the accident site. I'm just another nobody.

Shall we start a sweepstake trying to guess what car this is? I'll go for a Ford of some sort.

Pedal confusion - happens more often than you would believe, and of course the person concerned is adamant that they were stamping on the brake pedal.

If they failed in the way the OP says, then with 99.9% certainty I would say that they would stay failed.
