2015 Acenta Premium DCi - please explain keyfob :-)

Hi.

This is my bro's car, but getting info out of a non-technical fellow is really tough - especially now as he's lost the only key he had... Does anyone have a similar spec J11 who could fill me in, please?

I understand it has stop/start, and the fob does not need to be inserted anywhere for this to be activated - having it in your pocket is ok?

I think from pretty much since he bought the car, the display would say there's no key detected, so he'd have to physically touch the fob to the SS button first - does that sound like something that could happen? And what would be the cause?

Getting new keys is another matter - and I think worth a thread of its own?

Yes new 2032 batt in keyfob. But thats not gonna help if he has lost the keyfob
