Hello All

Thought I would do a small service on my QQ oil+filter and air filter for the first time for me after having an MOT

Ordered the parts online and checked to make sure they were the correct parts by giving my reg number
Parts arrived yesterday but had to go and buy an extra 1 ltr of oil as the car takes 5.7 ltrs and they only supplied 5 ltrs

Started the service and realised the parts are not correct.

I had looked on youtube for some guidance on how to do the service and it showed similar to the parts that arrived being fitted, so thats what I was expecting. Oil filter being in an awkward place by alternator, but that is not the case, its in a plastic housing which can be accessed from underneath easily.

At least they sent the correct oil, even though its not enough.

I`m hoping my local car parts shop has the correct parts

Does anyone else have trouble with ordering parts

what more info can I give to make sure I get the correct parts next time

Hi,

I'm pretty sure that it's 4.6 litres. You really don't want to over fill it by that amount.

Edit.

Well you learn something new every day, I didn't know that in 18-20 the quantities changed, will have a read up on that as that's a little curve ball and not something I would have expected, be interesting to find out the reason why. Thanks for adding that image.

Thanks for the replies.

The filters I ordered were bosch. I went with them because the name stands for quality. Thats why I ordered that particular kit.

yes, my tech documents say 5.7 ltrs of oil

@Mark65. We seem to have the same Model and year. I did look at the links you provided but I cant order anything online as my car has no oil or filter in it and I need it up and running today. I am having to go to "euro car parts" today, I had a look online and they have parts that fit...supposedly.

I could do with some info on how and where the cabin filter is fitted though if you have it. Everything I have seen online seems to be for a different model. I am now in doubt about everything.

I get the oil filters from Nissan, not sure if theres a difference but theres not much in the price , I always used mahle on my almeras, keep an eye on ebay for all filters, now and then they come up cheap, I have a genuine Nissan air filter ready for next March which I picked up for £18.
The cabin filter is accessed from behind the glove box, theres a finger hook you pull to remove then fingers in to pull the old one out, I found the Mahle cabin filter easier to install as the stiff bits are on the opposite sides so you dont have to crush it as much.

Thank You Mark65

Euro car parts even gave me the wrong Air filter to start with. Gave them the year and reg number and they got the parts (even added a fuel filter to my list) paid for them but thought I would check when I got back to the car. opened the packaging and found it looked completely different...so took it straight back and asked them to check the other parts were correct. They got me the right air filter and double checked the other filters.

What an absolute pain its been to get the correct parts.

Lesson learned though I suppose, it will make it easier next time

I have checked the links you provided, and the Air filters are different to mine. The one in you link is very similar to the Bosch one I got online

The one that was fitted to mine has the seal running paralell all the way around and the ones in your links and I got online has the seal at an angle. The one I got online is also thinnner
Is the one in your link the same as the one you fit to your QQ ?
Was the correct one fitted to mine originally.?
I have fitted an exact match to the one that was originally fitted.
Does it make a difference which one as long as it seals and filters the air ?

Its a little confusing to me as the housings on our QQs are most probably the same but the filters seem to be different

I use these 2 part sites never had problems
https://www.gsfcarparts.com/parts
https://www.partsinmotion.co.uk/

Eurocarparts were good about 8yrs ago but way over priced these days.
Diffrent makes use diffrent styles of filters so if your air filter slots in no probs then your fine.

I just checked on the links you provided...Thank You

I put my Reg number in and it shows as the correct model but the wrong year (2018) and the wrong oil and air filters. They must have had a change going into 2019.
