(First of all it's sad to hear about Dave, had learned a lot from his posts in the past)
We have a 4.5 year old 1.2 petrol automatic currently at 57k km. After about an hour or so of driving through traffic the car starts producing a knocking sound from the engine side. Only between 1500 and 2000 rpm. If you rev a bit quicker and skip these revs, no sound. On highway speeds? No sound.
I'll try to visit my Nissan dealer this week. Would there be any advice of yours before visiting them (except reading the >70 page long 1.2 oil loss thread)?
Knocking sound from the engine at 1500-2000 rpm?

Welcome to this forum.
Can't really answer your question but is the car using oil? Mine used none between services, but the 1.2 issue hadn't arisen when I got rid of it (in case it did!)

(2015 Nissan Qashqai Tekna DIG-T 1.2 sold 15/6/18) ~ 2018 Suzuki Ignis SZ5 - 2018 Yamaha MT-07 ~ (2024 Volvo EX30 ordered)
Thank you.
Can't recall seeing it below the midway point between min and max. Can this be classified as "using oil"?
Though on the last service visit (last August) the mechanics had claimed that my measurements were a bit off; they had a tool with a glass "cylinder" for measuring the extracted oil.
