Qashqai Model: Still looking for one....

Post by Doogle »

:geek: Sorry about all the "Noob" questions around buying my future Qashqai but....the 1.3 engine, I seem to think it's a Mercedes base, but I also seem to remember something about Renault?
Not fussed either way but how reliable and strong are these proving, I'm guessing going by the longevity pretty good? ;)

These engines were developed by the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance with Mercedes-Benz.

I'm at 26000 miles now and think it's a fantastic engine. Really strong, never failed to start first time, power in all parts of the rev range.

I can recommend it.

I agree with pandjh, seems really good, I did wonder as I came from a 2.0 diesel engine, but the 1.3 is smooth and has power when you want it.
Like all these small turbo charged engines, they need regular oil and filter changes, so if you keep on top of that you should be fine.

Jumping the thread I wonder who has the highest mileage on these 1300cc engines so far?

Doogle, here is an interesting attachment from Nissan on the New Alliance 1,3L Motor with some pretty decent comments on what has been improved. The report came out in 10/2018 around Launch time.
I agree with all what has been said and it is way better than the original 1,2L motor, it’s quite, very smooth, gutsy if you use a few Revs especially and mated to the DCT Gearbox is an absolute dream - Dave 👍🤗

I guess another question that could be asked - this engine comes in 2 variants in the J12 140 bhp and 158bhp i am assuming the only different is the tune of and that they are infact the same engine - do they come in any other state of tune in the other collaborators models

Coming Soon Qashqai 2021 J12 Tekna 158 in Mag Blue inc Fog Lights

Clarky94, some more facts based on the Renault 1,3L Motor still the same Alliance Motor though - Dave 😉

The 1.3 TCe H5Ht is a 1.3-liter four-cylinder turbocharged and direct-injected engine co-developed by Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance and their partner Mercedes-Benz (Daimler). The H5Ht engine debuted in 2017. Renault offers four variants with different levels of performance, which are branded as TCe115, TCe140, TCe150, and TCe160. Mercedes-Benz also produces and sells this 1.3L turbo-four motor under the M282 codename. Nissan's name for these engines is HR13DDT.

“So what is New In the J12, Pretty much everything bar the engine, Nissan have been careful not to upset a winning formula.
At launch all the grunt-work is done by a 1.3 petrol, now with mild-hybrid assistance. It comes in 138 and 156bhp, the lower as manual FWD, the higher with manual or a new CVT auto. That auto can take FWD or 4WD.”
“The base engine option in the European market is a mild hybrid 1.3-liter HR13DDT DiG-T turbocharged four-cylinder unit available with two power outputs 138 hp (140 PS; 103 kW) and 156 hp (158 PS; 116 kW). It is paired to either a 6-speed manual or an Xtronic CVT transmission. All-wheel-drive is available for the 156 hp option with CVT. Mild hybrid (1.3L 12V ALiS) / Battery 12-volt advanced lithium-ion battery system (ALiS)”
