open boot warning

i Have a 17 plate Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dCi Tenka 5 door hatchback. I am moving some furniture for family, a distance of 200 miles, having measured the furniture and the car, it will fit in my boot with the boot open about 12 inches with a furniture overhang of about 20cm at the back, I have looked through the manual and it says I will get a notification item that the boot is open, I cannot find anything about a warning sound, can someone advise me if there will be a warning sound and if so how do I disable it? 200 miles is a long way to have a beep or whatever going off constantly, all help and advice appreciated

Conrail, I am not sure if this will help you but I do know that on both of our J11 models you get a Rear Hatch Visual Warning if “Open” but have not heard any Alarms. I am not an electrician but could you bridge the Rear Hatch Switches L & R, but If there is No Alarm then a visual should not really annoy you or ! - Dave 😉

The Long Orange Line is the “Warning” :

Why not just go for a test drive with the hatch open?

Make sure you only drive forwards! Simple!

just close the boot latch with a screwdriver, it will think the boots closed then and no warning, just make sure you press the button to release the latch when your finished to close it otherwise it will just bounce back at you when you try to close it

Those pieces next to the striker left and right are just rubber to soften the closing of the boot, they aren't sensors, the only boot sensor is in the latch on the boot close the latch and as far as car is concerned boot is closed, all the doors have switches separate from the latches but just removing them or and unplugging them will cause the car to think the door is closed. That's how I do parasitic drain test as I have to be able to get into the car but make the car think doors are closed, then I latch the door closed with a screwdriver and lock it with the door open, obviously disarming the ultrasonics aswell.

Lewis, Thanks for your comment you live and learn (you cannot beat facts), I just thought the Rubbers moved and must be Switches - Wrong ! 🥴 - Dave 👍

thanks gloucester regarding "Make sure you only drive forwards! Simple!" I had never though of driving forward, next you expect me to know where the indicators are!
thanks lewisbryant, will give that a try, travelling 200 miles with a dispaly warning isn't a problem, just didn't want a warning sound all the way
