I'd have to say I'm disappointed by the interior.

interior.JPG

Compared to other recent car launches, notably the Ariya but also the new electric cars from Kia and Hyundai, it looks really dated.

Apart from the instruments there appears to be very little improvement on the J11b - nothing looks premium. Cheap hard grey plastics abound.

Even on the outside, although the front's good, the rest of it is very generic and the rear lights just look ridiculous with those sideways extensions.

Gloucester, so you appear to be disappointed by the interior. Surely it is difficult to make opinions from photos ! Everybody has a right to their opinions and I try to look on the positive side, but when I actually see one and have access to one then I can give my judgement. At present I am happy with what I have but to me the Screen is a little on the low side, which has now been positioned higher on the new model. To me the J11B is not that bad in appearance but has now changed and I would assume due to the Digitalization of the instruments - Dave 😉

Just being personal how would you rate your Suzuki Ignis (different design, Spec, price) against the new Design QQ photos ?

I would say it's look more low budget. I still remember how a friend of mine step into my previous (J11a) Qashqai. How drove a J10 before and had just changed it for the Kadjar.
His eyes when he sat in my Qashqai.... "ah ouais quand même!" which means as much as, "holy s**t, indeed". Nothing to do with the older Qashqai and much more exclusive and original than the much more "regular" Kadjar, which is also very nice but nothing "mad".

The J12 looks indeed very exclusive to me, buttons are nicer, finished with better materials, and placement is more logical. Like the high placed SatNav or the start button down under near the wireless charger instead of hided behind the steering wheel. Now, this was the high end model of course, still has to be seen what remains on the more accessible editions.

I don't think it is fare to compare it to the Aryia which should cost a 10K more... you should compare that one with a Tesla for instance.

Qashqai Model: Mk.3 Qashqai - J12 (2021+) New Model

Hello Qashqai owners,

I will be looking here quite often in the near future as I have the new J12 on pre-order.
At present I am the proud owner of a Mazda 6.
I never anticipated to buy *any* car 'so soon' since my Mazda is, IMHO, far from getting worn out.
But then came the new model Ad/invitation enabling me to have a look at the new Qashqai before the actual release and I went, just out of curiosity (that was the plan anyway).
When I looked upon this new Nissan and then got inside of it I was immediately "blown away".
In fact I completely forgot I sure was not planning to get *any* car any time soon.
But I am afraid the Nissan salesperson didn't have a difficult task convincing me, in fact I was already quite convinced at the time.
He did explain to me that the car as it was shown over there was in fact the Tekna+ model (not Premiere Edition), but since I would never buy I car that I had actually seen
I had to decide that configuration, 2-tone color etc would become the (exact) car ... I now have on order.
20-inch do look great on that car, can't imagine going smaller after having seen it.
About the plastics ... sure this is no Rolls-Royce, but if I compare the interior with the (full option) Mazda 6 I currently own I, personally, think this new Nissan model,
to me at least, truly 'looks' to be of the same high standards (and even better).
But seeing in the picture here above of the J11B I can understand why people demand the very best of the J12, that J11B sure looks incredibly great.
Dunno, since I can't compare (I never owned a previous qashqai model).
I dare say ... please check out this new qashqai if ever you get the chance, I don't believe/hope you will be dissapointed.
The only really sad part about my immediate purchase decision is that I soon will have to part with the Mazda 6 that never gave me any trouble (being 13 years old by now, almost 100k miles ... no big deal for a Mazda 6).

Till soon,

QaiFan, welcome to the QQ Forum and Well Done ! ✅ May I ask are you UK based as I have also been pressuring our Dealer here and normally also get to view the new models but at present there are no fixed Launch Plans.
So it does appear that the Tekna + Models are also around, not only the Premium Launch Model. Which Motor & Gearbox did you pick ? In my opinion the Nissan QQ is not a bad buy when you compare what you get for the money, my brother bought a Alfa Romeo Silvio SUV recently and was gutted when he compared the J11B Tekna + Spec that we have with the Alfa. So well done again and keep us informed - Dave 🧐

Hi Dave,

Thank you for your kind reply and assessment !
Unfortunately I am not from the UK, but from Belgium.
Here Nissan organized what is called a "Nissan Qashqai Roadshow" that gets the J12 Tekna+ car Magnetic Blue/Black roof version to the dealers (each dealer gets a few days to show it off).
The car would be ready for me by August (or even sooner, the dealer refused to give a real date, but I am in no hurry).
I picked the 6MT version (since I am, personally, not 100% convinced former CVT problems are solved).
If it would have had the (e.g. peugeot) EAT8 autmatic gearbox option I would have gone for that instead, for sure !
Unfortunately I also had to go for the less powerfull 140PS version because of the manual gearbox
160PS is very tempting, but the dealer told me it could only be ordered later this year with the 6 MT !
I was told this was the time to buy (not surprisingly though :-)) because the price for the full option J12 would only go up (?).
Still don't know for sure which option(s) I don't get -I did pick two options in addition to the Tekna as well- that will be ... a "leap of faith".
But the 20" wheels would be part of the deal (in Belgium!).
My guess/hope(!?) is that my Tekna-Plus Edition car will turn out to be a Premiere Edition, but with all remaing options, I am not sure though (neither was the Belgian sales-guy).

So long, Steven,

Well you can't compare a five year old design for a car that cost me £13,149 with a new Qashqai costing over £30k.

Maybe it's the steering wheel of the new car which is putting me off - the J11b one is SO much better looking. Ditto the gearlever whether manual or particularly auot.

A more valid comparison is to the new Renault Captur which looks a lot better in those two departments I'd suggest?:

Or look how dynamic the Peugeot 3008 looks - if you can get used to the instrument placement:
