Hi,
I need some advice/help.
I have a 2020 Qashqai ST-I, the speedo is very unreliable. When according to GPS trackers, and friends following me we are doing 60 kmph the speedo indicates 64- 65 kmph. At 100Kmph the speedo indicates 115 kmph. At 100kmph the indicated speed also fluctuates without touching the accelerator, going faster, or slowing down by anything up to 8-10 kmph.
When I first noticed the problem I contacted the dealer's service centre I was told wait until you do a few thousand km's it will settle down, that was some 6000 kms ago, and the problem is still there.
Can anyone give me some advise or suggestions?
Looking forward to replies.
Regards
GCFrank

Welcome to the forum
The service department are wrong.
The speedo has read high on all three Nissan cars I have owed.
Same with the three Nissans my partner has owned.Same with my sister's Honda.
It seems to be a "feature" with Japanese cars.
At least you won’t get busted for speeding !

Both Mechanical and Electronic Speedo's read high. Both use Analogue sensors to measure wheel rotation and need mathematical massage. Speed is calculated by distance/time which wheel sensors + maths don't do. Just as well Speedo's run faster...speed cams!. Explanation for GPS here:

Welcome to this forum.
In the UK and I suspect elsewhere, car speedometers are permitted to over-read by 10% but must not under-read at all.
Hence usually you find cars on average over-read by around 5%.
Both my Qashqai and my present Ignis read 75mph on a GPS advised true 70mph - on my motorbike it's right at the top end - reading 77mph at a true 70mph.
Your top-end reading does seem rather excessive though - have you checked tyre pressures?
