Hi.

I’m hoping someone can assist me.
I have a Qashqai on a 67 plate.

2 days ago I noticed the heater became problematic and intermittent.

Heater would kick in and I would put to max volume to help clear the ice.

Worked fine and then I would reduce to 2 bars instead of 7 bars.

When I then tried to move up from 2 bars the display would indicate the increase but the fan would not increase.

Tried switching the blower off. Left for 5 mins and tried again.

Worked in exactly the same way as I described above.

Has anyone had this before or know what the fix is?

Many thanks for reading this as this is my first post.

Also. Thanks in advance for any replies I may receive.

Ian

Auto and Max both work.

However when you switch this off and try to adjust the fan speed down it does go down.

However when you try to increase the fan speed it does not.

From what you say that clears problems with both the fan motor (Blower) and its electronic controller (Power Transistor unit).

This leaves a possible problem with the A/C Controller Unit and communications to the Fan switch (buttons). This can only be tested with Nissans CONSULT tool. The A/C Controller has a number of sensor inputs. Its also possible that an error code exists (DTC) which would need a scanner/CONSULT to extract. No quick fix seems to be available.

It worries me...i have the same car

Hi, I have the same problem on a 2018 plate Qashqai. Fans work when engine starts, but after a random period of time the interior fans die to minimum setting. If I reduce the fan power they drop to minimum setting & won’t turn back up unless you restart the engine. Nissan dealer just quoted me £970 (parts & Labour) to replace the Heater Fan Motor 😳

Hello my wife is having the same heater fan problem now, I used to have a 66 plate 4wd qashqai and had the same issue also but fortunately it was under warranty so they replaced the control panel/module and it seemed to work. £900+ to replaced a fan that is already working is extortionate otherwise your fan would not work at all. It's happening alot to the qashqai's nissan know about it but don't want a recall as it would cost. BTW it is also happening to other Nissan's like Micra's etc.
Hope this helps.
