17 plate Nissan Qashqai 1.6 dCi Tenka 5 door hatchback, recently too grandchildren to their football training, as it was a cold and miserable night I sat in the car, decided to play around with the controls, not for the first time, looking at the apps option I decided to download the connect app to my phone and link it to the car, phone is connected by Bluetooth for the phone usage, clicked on connect it asked to add car, clicked ok, it then asked for vin, having just passed it's mot I had the certificate with me plus the V5 for some reason, imputted the vin but it was not recognised, there is a zero/ letter O in the middle so tried both options, still not recognised, checked the bulkhead so number ok, also checked here - https://vin-location.com/cars/nissan-qashqai-2013-2014/
anybody else had this problem, all help and advice appreciated

Unfortunately, the Nissan Connect app is now only compatible with the Mark 3/J12 Nissan Qashqai as it uses the car’s in-built SIM card/eSIM for direct communication with the app. 😕

The Nissan Connect app works fine (but slow) with the Nissan J12.
Sending a destination to the car is a great feature, but I can't seem to :
- Send more than 1 location (you can with the smarthone app, but the car only allows saving/navigating to the last destination sent ?
- You can not seem to name the destination ?

I would like all search options from the TomTom navigation system to be synced with the Smartphone App.
Would be easy to manage all destinations from the smartphone and sent one or more new to the car to be used at a later time !?

People have tried over the years - previous responses:
gloucester wrote: Thu May 28, 2020 8:17 pm By the way the Nissan Connect apps were absolutely hopeless - extremely limited functionality. For example from memory the Facebook app only allowed you to check in. I tried them once and never used them again.
gloucester wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2020 9:13 am It was hopeless as a service so not a loss at all. SO inflexible as to what you could do - e.g. with Facebook you could just check-in - nothing else. Google was very limited too. Just use your phone

I only use the TomTom SatNav occasionally. As you say, it appears to only allow 1 location to be sent at a time.

All the saved entries appear in the Address Book on the Connect screen, as per the picture below.

The destination names in the picture below were automatically added by the app which I can then edit by clicking the pencil icon next to each entry. ✏️
Tapping the blue flag starts the navigation.

There is an option, in the Nissan Connect app, to connect to the phone’s address book. Maybe you could create a group in the address book on your phone called Nissan TomTom and add addresses to that which, in turn, might sync with the SatNav and appear under Address Book? :?

Thanks Sandgrounder.
Also the syncing with the phone contacts app looks interesting.
I will test these features.

Indeed Gloucester, people are seldom satisfied with apps like these. It seems only volvo and Tesla (maybe polestar) are considered really useful (or so I have read in a car magazine).
