Hi there,
I have got a Nissan Qashqai 2007 1.5 Diesel. Since yesterday the car doe snot start. When I turn the key, it makes a click sound and does not start the engine. All dashboard lights get on when I turn the key. I checked the battery with voltmeter and it is healthy (13v). I used jump start to start the car and car did not start. I also replaced its start motor with a new one and it did not help either. Any advice on what is wrong with this car.
Thanks
My car does not start

When you replace the starter motor, have you replaced the starter solenoid as well?
Can you determine if the click is your starter solenoid/ bendix or it comes from the dash?

The starter motor and solenoid where attached together. So both parts were replaced.
The click is coming from the dash (mainly from the fuse box below the steering wheel) and nothing comes from the starter solenoid.

Welcome to this forum.
These questions may sound naive but I'll ask them...
Was it a new or second-hand starter?
If the latter did you test it before installation?

It sound like you don’t have 12V going to the starter.
Check wires, earth, fuse, cables whatever you possible can to get them 12V to the starter.
I hope it’s nothing to do with immobiliser or ignition switch. Are you using the same key fob…

Thanks!
It was a new starter motor and I assumed it is healthy. I know that I am easily able to test my starter motor. I am going to do it today.

I have the same opinion too. Is there any way to use multimeter to make sure that 12V goes to the starter or not?
The key fob opens/closes the doors properly. I also tried the second key fob and nothing happened. So I believe everything is OK with the immobiliser and key fab. I am not sure about the ignition switch TBH. Could be anything wrong with the ignition key?

Someone I know had recent similar problem, not on a QQ but on a VW van. Turned out it was the earth strap from the engine to the body had broken. That would give 12v to the relay but no return after the relay to the starter motor. Try using a jump lead from the engine to the body work and then see if it starts.
Past cars Mercedes B Class, S Class, E Class Estate, E Class Coupe, G Wagen, 260E interspersed with Peugeot 406 and Audi Coupe.
I tried what you suggested and did not work.

IO just tested my old starter motor and it works perfectly. So the issue was/is not the starter motor.
I already asked this question: How can I make check that the starter motor gets the voltage when ignition key is on?
