Qashqai 1.3DiG-T 160 Tekna Auto Dec 2020

Am a little fed up of my Motability Qashqai

First of all it was bringing up a fault on the airbags at two weeks old.
Then the electric windows kept opening themselves. Got sick of folks knocking on the door to tell me.
Then an engine fault, then a gearbox fault where I couldn't move the car backwards or forwards.
Then a general system fault.

The computer picked no faults up on any if them!

Took it in on Monday and it is staying there until it is sorted out.

The mechanics haven't a clue what is wrong with it

Am about at the stage if telling Motability to take it back. Have had two Jukes with no problems at all.

Has anyone here got any ideas please?

If the dealership has not got a clue , then they need to be getting onto their own technical managers at HQ

You dont have a dog and bark yourself , its their problem and I really hope they have kept you mobile.
Maybe a call to Motability might be in order

Thanks for the reply.

Yes Motability hired a car for me from Europcar for as long as it takes.

Have had a phonecall from the Dealership today. They *think* they have found the problem. There is a leak on the windshield. So, they are taking the windshield out and resetting it. Then have to wait until it sets, apparently.

We shall see how it goes.

Welcome to this forum - keep us informed!

I'd be surprised a simple leak could have such far ranging consequences.

I have no idea how a Motability deal works but I wonder whether raising a complaint with then could put the right sort of pressure on the dealer ?
Even if it only prompts them to refer the problem to Nissan HQ, it could well resolve the problem.

Good Luck

Motability buy the car from the dealership. I have the invoice with the sale price of nearly £32K minus the advance payment I made of £1300

They then lease it to me at the rate of my Enhanced Rate of Mobility PIP which works out to about £280 per month.

I need to see what happens when I get the car back

There has been occasions where the windscreen has a poor bonded point and allows water through and it tracks over to the passenger side and drips on to the bcm which is behind the glovebox, that may have been what's occurring with your qashqai

Fingers crossed for a good outcome

Update.

Finally got my car back on Friday 19th March.

Today, Monday 21st March I have taken it back to the Dealership. Third time.

The System Fault message came up within five minutes of starting the engine.

There is something wrong with the auto gear box. It is clunky when driving.
When idling it is hiccoughing the whole time.

Motability have said that if this visit still does not solve the problem they will swap my present car for a new one. Can't say fairer than that.

Quite frankly I am frustrated with the car I have got.

I bought my first car in 1984 and every two years until 2006 on manual. Then I went onto Motability automatic.

In all these years it is the first time I have had this issue with any car.

Will see what happens next.
