Are you buying it from a dealer, or private sale? If you are buying from a dealer, I'd ask them to replace it as part of the deal. It's worth trying.

Thanks for that info Dave. They certainly are a huge asset, as the Qashqai bonnet is so heavy! I'm trying to source some struts for my new Juke, but no luck so far. The bonnet is much lighter than the Qashqais, but I think bonnet struts are a good addition.
