Re: Bolts & screws

Phatboy, “I mentioned a “Bolt is a Bolt” but it is a safer option to obtain the correct bolt when Brake related.” OK perhaps what I stated was a “Slip of the Tongue” but it was my comment and not Gloucester’s, but the comment was also there to use the correct Brake related part. I was in the Engine...

Just as Gloucester has mentioned a “Bolt is a Bolt”
No it isn't, brakes tend to use high tensile ones, with Loctite on the threads

Re: Diamond cut wheel refurb or powder coating

When our wheels are damaged or wormed, I will get them sprayed anthracite I think (Blade silver car). I was told they can be re-diamond cut 1 time, then start to get thinner and weaker. Also advised the heat used in powder coating can weaken the wheels, and saw some photos of a wheel where all the s...

Re: How Hard Can It Be To Get A New Door Mirror

Best check the calibration of the cameras now! I'd have sourced one from eBay I think, a write-off that's a year old may well have one that was made the same time as yours. £40 for the mirror cap to be painted and job done, assuming the camera doesn't need calibrating. Was this not an insurable thing?

Re: Which Qashqai?

Thanks for all input so far guys - I am seriously wary about recommending the 1.2 petrol and her budget doesnt stretch to a 1.3 with suitable miles. I am actually now thinking that she should stay with the company car until retirement rather than buying a Qashqai , having all the costs that go with...

Re: Qashqai J11 Door mirror cap removal

So... I finally ordered up another set, and got brave with a file! Got some smoked ones https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001035266000.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.76c04c4dhrwM1c These even use the same wiring connector as the originals, so in that respect, a direct swap. I had the same issue with the ...

I'm left handed - didn't find it a problem. Just move laterally if necessary.
I guess you don't spend as much time in multi-storey car parks as me.... or as short as the wife! Car parks here were definitely not intended for a car as big as a Qashqai!

Re: Which Qashqai?

I briefly had a 1.2 petrol, and found it to be horribly underpowered, but that may just tell the way I like to drive.

I upgraded to a 1.3 petrol (140hp) and it's completely different, and far, far better.
