LEDs need to be connected the right way around, have you tried reversing the connections on the front LEDs?

I have been thru a set of generic codes for the Qashqai 1.5 DCi, a list of specific Nissan codes for the car and the workshop manual codes and I cannot find P1016 referenced anywhere.

Got 42k miles out of the original Continentals on the front (18 inch wheels), rears still lots of tread. Replaced fronts with Dunlop Sportmax RT2s, good grip, slightly quieter and they provide excellent protection for the alloy rims.
