Re: Hardwiring dashcam in Qashqai 2018
One way I got round a hardwire, but still having "sentry mode" was by using the USB socket in the armrest cubby for daily driving/recording then quick swap over to a battery bank to record whilst I'm away from the car, car parks, street parking etc. Battery bank lives in the armrest cubby ...

Re: Hardwiring dashcam in Qashqai 2018
OP, can I ask which socket are you using that is a constant live?
Both the front one next to the E-brake, the one in the armrest cubby and all the USB's shut off after around 5 minutes on my J11B.

I'm glad that you fixed the issue, especially with such a simple fixLordLiverpool wrote: ↑Mon Apr 25, 2022 8:26 amI tried putting a sponge under the pipes behind the air-con control and that seems to have fixed it.
Thanks, everyone!

Re: Speed warning
That large-ish red symbol/alarm is usually related to the front radar detecting an obstacle at some distance...crash warning from the FEB system. That system had a software update in either 2018 or 19?. I get it at odd times and I think it occurs from 25mph or so up only. Or the FEB system simply i...

Re: Speed warning
I've had this too, maybe three or four times over the last year of ownership. First time was slowing down approaching a mini roundabout, 30mph zone, maybe I was going around 5mph ish and turning right at the roundabout as the warning went off? The most recent was travelling through a 20mph zone, I w...

Re: Computer like noises from under the dash.
Not sure about the "beeping" sounds? But we had an annoying metal on metal "tinny" morse code type sound coming from behind the dash, mainly behind the climate control unit. Turned out to be the two matrix pipes touching and with vibration this lead to the noise, fixed by replaci...

Re: Air Con Yearly Regas Needed
Great to hear you've got a good dealer. I found mine to be on a par with the BMW one - very difficult to get any action. When we purchased the car last March (less than three year old) I admit it was not the best experience, but since the Perth Dealership closed we moved to the Stirling branch (sam...

Re: Water ingress into passenger foot wells
I previously had a Jeep Patriot that constantly leaked like a sieve after wet weather. The sunroof drain pipes fouled up extremely quickly, tiny debris, moss, etc. Thus leading to water ingress through the roof mounted lights, front and rear footwell's along with the boot (swimming pool 😉) Learnt a ...

Re: Replacement rims
We had a vaguely similar issue with our previous 2007 QQ, for years had new tyres fitted at a well known UK country wide tyre fitter, then after an MOT was carried out in 2019 we were informed that three alloy wheels were of serious concern. It appears that the aluminium alloy on several of the bolt...

Re: Air Con Yearly Regas Needed
Do you have an extended warranty? Luckily we have an extended Nissan warranty, tbh the Dealership in Stirling have always been excellent with regards to faults and Warranty claims. It was in with them I believe last August with exactly the same issue, hissing/gurgling sounds coming from the climate...
