The 6th gear will be there for the same reason as in all modern cars, which is to get the laboratory tested mpg figures as high as possible and keep CO2 low. I'd wager a fair stack of money that without it, it wouldn't be road tax exempt. In addition and as is the case with most small capacity turbo diesels the useful power band is small, having one less gear ratio would only exacerbate this further.

ha ha to the colour coded windows! I have had a silver car for 8 years and love silver as it shows less marks and scratches and dirt but my kids banned me from having another silver so I went for the gun metal. I was very tempted with white as I love the look of white cars but only when they are clean and I cannot be cleaning it every week! The kids wanted the blue but I have seen the blue and thought it was quite purple and I might get fed up of it. I think all the colours look good though.
