Wiper Problems and cures

just got my 09 with 18000 miles .

I can see no problem with the design and location of the motor unit ..it does not get wet from rain or snow (as some cars) and I have had a conversation with another member on the subject.
The only potential problem area I can see is the wheel boxes ( blade arm piviot bearings) There is a hole in the plastic surround about 3 mm dia to let the water out ..if this blocks then water can run down the shaft into the bearing causing it to rust /seize.

so keep the hole clear and run some oil down the shaft occasionally to lubricate the bearing.

Sorry to disagree the motor does get wet , take a look at a car with more mileage and you will see the corrosion. Also the gearbox out put shaft rusts solid Bill
