Hello everyone, I bought qashqai 2012 1.6 dci and I noticed that the temperature gauge doesnt rise all the way to vertical position but it remains a little to the left, lets say 2mm. I thought I have problem with thermostat but after changing same situation. Can anyone tell me what is the working temperature in degrees for this motor? And if this position is normal, one mechanics told me thats ok, but I havent see before that the gauge is not vertical when the engine is fully worm.

I don't know specifically for that engine bit I would have thought the thermostat would begin to open at around 83 and then obviously if it got hot the cooling fans would control the temp. I've noticed on all the 1.5 diesels I've worked on that they tend to show on the gauge as a little lower than you would expect. I put a new stat in on mine that opened at 89 instead of the usual 83 as I was having issues with heat in the cabin. Diesels tend to run cooler than a petrol anyway. Have a good feel around all of your water pipes when it's heated up and see if every pipe is hot, heater matrix, everywhere. I have used my scan tool on a few of these and they've always functioned as they should at around 83(apart from mine which had a higher temp stat but that also functions correctly).

Sorry I can't be more specific, if you're Midlands based I would happily stick on a scan tool to watch it's behaviour, that's probably the best test you could do (to put your mind at rest).

Quite normal so don't worry about it. Not sure what makes you think it should show half way.

Hi
I have a 2014 1.6DCI and the temp gauge sits a little to the left of vertical. Hope this helps.
