QQ+2 2010 2.0 diesel
Had yellow engine light appear yesterday, comes up as P0487/488 (Exhaust Gas Recirculation Throttle Control Circuit A).
Car is noticeably rough when idle.
Charged battery just in case, turned ignition on then off after 1 minute, opened bonnet:
- think there was noise during running that continued for some seconds after turning it off - like a cable tie attached to a fan blade hitting another plastic part.
- followed by a long beep
- followed by the sound like short burst of pressured air coming out (some pointers in internet to engine overheating, can it happen in less than 1 minute ?)
Is there anything obvious that I can check with basic DIY skills ? Car had full service recently so oil/filters should be fine.
Trying to see if I can drive it 10 min to the garage or need to look into adding Homestart to my AA policy or some mobile mechanics.
