Hi everyone, new to the Forum.

I'm getting some all season tyres and want to fill the arches a bit better without any risk of rubbing and looking at some 235/55R19s as an option.

I see someone has 235/50R19 and another 225/55R19 so not too far off. My speedo is already 10% under so not worried about it being slightly over.

Anyone out there tried 235/55R19 at all? The tyres I'm looking at have a rounded profile so should be quite forgiving on the edges.

Not planning on changing rims so anything other than 19s is not so relevant unless just to show oversize dimensions that will fit.

Also not off-roading so major suspension travel on tight cornering is highly unlikely. Thanks in advance for any advice!

My only comment (and I acknowledge that it may be nonsense) is that non-standard tyre sizes might affect your case should you need to make an insurance claim.
I’m sure they would love the chance to wriggle out of a valid claim.

Go carefully and good luck

Yes the insurance company would be notified of the winter tyres (or all weather) but good to be careful.

May also affect cruise control and your Speedo will be less accurate due to the larger circumference of the oversize tyres

Speedo already mentioned... anyone tried this sized tyres or larger please? I’ve been putting larger tyres on cars for years living in a rural environment, it’s just really hard to be sure they won’t rub until you try.

Not on 19's on a qashqai, but I have 245/65r17's a/t's on mine which overall diameter is just a touch larger than the size you're after in 19's. I do have 30mm strut spacers on otherwise standard suspension and in some instances the tyre just touches, and I mean only just touches, the splash guard in the front wheel wells. I use my car for rural mail delivery so lots of rough surfaces and undulations and it's not an issue. If you're putting them on standard offset wheels even at standard height, I can't see it being a drama👍
