is it a clear indicator bulb your useing or an orange one ?

Was it a genuine nissan one and does it get brighter for brake lights?

Well no its not a genuine qashqai part so that maybe why never thought of that. The bulb is orange

the orange coated bulbs tend to fade over time, was it a new bulb you fitted ?

Your right the bulb is old so that prob explains that. So maybe the rear light unit not being a genuine part explains why the leds arent as bright as the opposite side

Yeah the LED's will be different make / model and probably different output level compared to the OEM part so that would account for the difference in brightness - I replaced my N/S light earlier this year with an aftermarket one and it's significantly brighter than the original Nissan one on the O/S, to the point I questioned if the brake lights were on
