Qashqai Model: Mk.1 Qashqai - J10 (2006–2013)

Evening all!

I have just bought (yesterday) a 2009 2.0L Qashqai+2 J10. 111k on the clock, and drives sweet as a nut.

I do have a few questions, and if these are best suited elsewhere, please someone tell me and I'll create a post accordingly.

Gear knob is worn, so ordered a new one - given that these have a lift clutch to engage reverse, how hard are they to replace?

Is there anything I should look for to either investigate or repair/replace, given the mileage?

There are a lot of buttons I don't know what they do, but I'm going to be reading the manual to find out before I ask here.

Additionally, I have a caravan towing question, so if anyone has any experience, I'm sure that would be ace if I could pick your brains?

Anyhow, nice to meet you all - as I become.e more experienced and knowledgeable, I'm sure I'll become.e more active member

Thanks all, good to be here. Good find, Squashy2, I've looked and I didn't find this - found a load for J11 onwards, but nothing that matched mine - that looks like just the job though, cheers!

So, that video is just what I need, however, the wife ordered a gear knob she liked the look of from Amazon, turned out to be for a Mini Clubman, so still a no go as yet. Ordered the correct one today, so we'll see how it goes!

So, I took our first trip towing the caravan - for those interested, our caravan has two 7-pin electrical wires, but the towbar on Karen (wife names everything!) only had one 7 pin socket. The one wire I can plug in was for all the lights on the back of the caravan, so all good for a trip, the second wire let's you run the fridge inside so your beers are cold when you arrive, which I had to do without. I'm sure it helps with other things, but the beers are the important ones! Anyhow, the issue I had was that the wire from the caravan was too short to reach the car, hence me needing someone experienced. After some fettling, turns out these wires have a lot of slack, they're just pinned the underside of the van, so releasing these solved the issue.
