Thanks but it's definitely urea crystals that have formed, they have quite an oily texture. I've been topping up from the adblue dispenser at my local petrol station.

I've taken it to the specialist diesel garage as recommended. There was a pin-hole in the adblue line from the tank to the exhaust caused by rubbing another part. The line needs replaced but requires strip down to get access. Around £800 inc VAT.Eddie67 wrote: ↑Mon Jan 22, 2024 9:40 am Hi All, I've been getting an AdBlue low warning that I've remedied by topping up the Adblue more regularly than seems feasible, based on the low mileage I've been doing over the last few months. After smelling a strong odour of Ammonia I opened up the bonnet to find it looks like Adblue has been leaking into the engine compartment, based on the crystalline build up witnessed. My local trusted garage has referred me on to a diesel engine specialist. Any thoughts on what could be causing the issue? This is the first car requiring AdBlue I've owned.
