I've had this fault with my car for the last couple of months and keep forgetting about it.

It started with the cruise control and speed limiter functions cutting out when I was driving it. It would be fine for the first 10 minutes i drove the car then it would stop working. then after a few weeks they both stopped working all together. when you press either function now the display just shows the function and the flashing "SET" on the display.

I've tried replacing the MAF sensor and it hasn't worked. I've also stuck an OBD fault finder onto the car and it hasn't shown up any error code.

Any help or suggestions is appreciated!

Welcome to this forum.

I don't know the answer but clock springs often cause problems on J10 cars.

Not sure how the cruise control works on a QQ, but my old Mercedes had the same problem and turned out to be the brake pedal switch, maybe with a manual car could also be the clutch switch. They both deactivate cruise control when pressed and may be at fault.

Below is the the general cruise control system (ASCD) diagram for the J10...perhaps not totally accurate.

ASCD = AUTOMATIC SPEED CONTROL DEVICE in Nissan speak

There are no specific DTCs for the system. As regards the brake input signals the ECU requires two braking signals:

1. Action of the brake pedal switch
2. The brake light switching on

There has been quite a few spiral cable problems reported on this site for the J10 as well.

All inputs to the ECM need checking
