Hi there, had this problem last year, both top mounts were replaced in the end, it used to squeak when it was really cold, this year it hasn't squeaked all year until the cold weather, now it doesn't squeak when just cold, it's find with that, but when it's raining and wet and the spray from the water gets into the bushing it creaks, so it looks like I need the shock absorbers sleeves replacing for the modified ones to prevent the debris/water getting in. Now my question is that it took a long time to get the car so as everything is working as it should, and I had the get the steering alignment done professionally to get it to go in a straight line as the dealers were useless. Is there any way that I could possibly seal the area in question that is letting the water in? Maybe silicon sealant around the non moving joints, I really don't want the car messed with at the dealers!! So a nice diy fix would be fab! Any help would be brill! Any drawing/ideas where water is getting in would really help! And if anyone has had the modified parts did they help with the problem?
Thanks

Finally had time to look at the suspension noise I was getting from the top mount on the off side front, so jacked the car up, I noticed straight away there was a gap between bottom of the suspension top mount and the top of the rubber boots for the suspension damper that sits behind the spring, this gap was about 2 to 3 mm all the way round, that would allow water into the joints causing the rubbers to squeak, as a temporary measure and to make sure that that was the point where the debris was getting into the joint I covered the gap with a rubber gasket and fixed it to the top mount covering the Gap but still allowing the suspension to have its full movement. I did contact Nissan yesterday also who confirmed there was an updated rubber boot that now covers the gap which has been documented on other the posts, I think this is just a design flaw in how Nissan made the original parts. I will book my car in for the new year to try and get this sorted. The new part number is 54034-4AE1A.

Monkeywba, the gap you've mentioned, wouldn't it only be there when the car is jacked up? If the weight of the car was on the suspension then surely the shock absorber would compress sufficiently to close the gap.

No the gap is there for movement space for the damper and spring to rotate on the top mount base. Otherwise it would rub together.

Would there be someone willing to jack the front of there QQ and take a picture or there top mount inside the wheel well, where it meets the top of the suspension spring. It would need to be 16 reg onwards. I want to know if this new part covers the gap!

Many thanks in advance!

My car is intermittently having this issue. Its is only 6 months old with just over 8,000km on the clock.

Its sounds like dry bushes or something like that in the front end and in my case tends to happen after periods of hot weather and almost always when going slowly over speed humps or when hitting the bottom and coming over the top of car park ramps.

Surely enough though, when ever I have the thought of going to the dealership, it rains. The road spray seem to lube it and the sound goes away.

Its is annoying when it happens but I think I can deal with it until the 10k service.

Does this sound like the same issues you guys are having?

That buzzing "fuel pump" kind of sound coming from the rear while its parked in the garage on a hot night, on the other hand, I something I need to sort out. :?

Got my car back from the dealers today regarding creaking front suspension. I was told that cause were dry sway bar (anti-roll) bar bushes which were removed, lubricated and replaced.

Car is driving like new again so fingers crossed it stays that way.
