Here is a picture of a H11 bulb, it sends light in all directions https://ae01.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1INzKJpXX ... alogen.jpg
Now compare that to your LED bulb.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391537203251? ... EBIDX%3AIT
Your bulb only sends light to aproximatly 1/2 of the reflector. You may think the led is better, but the chances are that you will find the pattern lacking & a poorer performance the the suggested night breaker bulb.
Also, the fan cooled led bulb is first gen tech, the newer / better models use passive cooling, here is a pic

Where do you buy these bulbs , and is the only benifit the lack of a fan ?Daewar wrote:

BTW , Im more than happy with the light output with the bulbs I have compared to standard Halogens.
The reach of the beam is good as is the definition of pattern thanks to the projector style headlamp

Apparently they use a new type of LED and I should imagine as there is no fan, there is less to go wrong. Maybe, but this is just a guess, they run cooler?
Take a look here for lots & lots & lots & lots of bulbs

I was heartened by Coupe Racing's experience and advice on fitting LED lamps to replace the halogen low beam bulbs so I ordered a pair and I must say the results are very impressive. I had already ditched the original factory fitted Philips bulbs in favour of a pair of GE Megalight +120 bulbs which were measurably and more importantly noticeably brighter, so the results from the NIGHTEYE LEDs suggested by CR were pleasingly surprising.
To assist anyone else who's contemplating fitting these I've included some images below. These are shots of the output of three different bulbs onto a vertically mounted white screen positioned about 2m from the headlamp unit photographed using the same exposure for each of the lamps. Examining the illumination pattern from each, apart from the difference in colour temperature, the most obvious difference is that that the LED lamp doesn't have a hotspot which may well have some impact on the penetration and throw of the light. When driving the most noticeable aspect, apart from the whiteness, is that there is much more light available nearer to the vehicle and also to the sides so it really improves peripheral visibility, particularly effective on reflective markers. As Coupe Racing has already commented, there's nothing to suggest that there is any increased risk of glare for other drivers.
Overall then really pleased with this low beam upgrade, particularly as I'd originally been quite sceptical over its viability.

Thank you for the feed back.
My reluctance to fit uprated Halogen bulbs was the fact that they burn hotter to produce a brighter light , and as such , their life is shorter,
The LED wins for me because of improved visibility as already documented , low cost and long life.
The latter is important as most of my driving is done at night , so I estimated that the halogens in an uprated guise would last approx 6-9 months , and all for a similar cost to the LED.

The only slightly negative point is that the Nighteye units aren't quite the same white as the DRLs. The DRLs seem to be more in the 4000-5000 degK range whereas Nighteye is 6000-6500 degK, so slightly colder but not annoyingly so like some that you see. I'm now on the lookout for H7 high beam replacements, maybe passively cooled, but the Flashtech Plasma V3s that Daewar pointed at are a couple of years old so actually quite old technology. Maybe I'll invest in a couple of cycle lamps, they're blindingly bright these days!

Hi everyone...i am a new user here. As per my knowledge a halogen bulb's filament has a very small and precisely aligned area where the light is produced and the headlamp's lens and reflector are designed around this. An led bulb is a completely different configuration that doesn't have the same sort of intense hot spot so they have to have a totally different reflector and lens arrangement.
Just wondering how you got on with these bulbs any problems ?Coupe racing wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2016 6:25 pm The beam pattern is identical
The light is white as you can see.
Driving is now a lot easier at night.
I used these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/391537203251? ... EBIDX%3AIT
The fans do hum slightly , but not much , and despite the pictures in the advert , the plug connections are correct.
I will be replacing the H7 main beams soon as they are almost redundant.
If you go searching , bearing in mind you dont need bulbs that have the little in line box as the J11 is not CANBUS , and there is no bulb failure warning.
I have been looking at some by the same make but seem to have a few comments that they did not last more than 3 months and some say they flicker or one shines brighter than the other.
An update would be lovely if you dont mind
Thanks
Terry

Sorry to bring up an old post. If you still have the Qashqai and these LED lights, how have they performed through the years? They still working nicely?Coupe racing wrote: ↑Wed Nov 30, 2016 5:49 pm I have fitted LED bulbs.
Straight swap = no wiring - took 5 mins
Rated at 6000K , so a white light , and 4000 lumens each.
The beam pattern is retained and I had the alignment checked and it was fine.
The LED bulbs work well as the J11 is fitted with projector headlamps , so other drivers wont get dazzled.
I have attached a picture , and you can see the difference to the car in front.
Do not think you are going to get a reply as you can see my post back in July 2018 was regarding the same thing you ask with no response.ABliss wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 5:33 pmSorry to bring up an old post. Could be the OP no longer visits the site or they very rarely visit, if they had been back they would or had a notification to say there was an update to there thread.
My main concern on these is will I have to keep changing them to get the car through its MOT or has any one done this LED headlight upgrade and passed the UK MOT with the bulbs in place.
