Pro Pilot Recall?

Hi everyone, after having Diesel Tekna for almost 5 years I have just changed to Petrol Hybrid Tekna, August 21 plate with 11200 miles on the clock. Unfortunately the Nissan dealer has not filled me with confidence due to a few issues with the car, the Pro Pilot would not work and the dealer's sales manager advised me that he had just been advised by Nissan of a recall for the Pro Pilot and it most probably would be an eltronic update.
Does any body know if the Pro Pilot is a new recall or is this something the dealers have known about for a while?

Seems a relatively new recall.

Recall number R/2024/021 Vehs affected 9536.

On affected vehicles the capacitive mat for hand on detection may have been damaged during manufacture of the steering wheel. The steering wheel may falsely detect the driver has their hands on the wheel with ProPilot engaged and not give a warning to place hands back on the wheel.
Had my steering wheel replaced on Wednesday.

I received a vehicle recall notice from Nissan in the post this morning (see below).

The steering wheel in my Qashqai was replaced last year, November 2023, due to the steering assist fault and sometimes I would not get a warning when my hands were taken off the steering wheel (viewtopic.php?p=104384#p104384). Being pedantic, my Qashqai has Drive Assist (MT) not Pro-Pilot

Will ring the dealership next week to clarify whether my Qashqai requires another inspection/steering wheel!

Had my Qashqai checked today (earliest appointment available). Fortunately, I don’t need to have the steering wheel replaced due to having a new one fitted late last year. The dealership will inform Nissan to update their records accordingly.
