Occasional metallic clank from offside wheels

Hi, I have a 70 plate QQ Acenta Premium with 18000 miles on the clock. Recently I have been hearing an occasional metallic clanking sound from somewhere around the offside. At first I thought I had a stone or something metal stuck in a tyre but the tyres are clean. It sounds like driving over a tin can. Anyone got any clues?

Could be the drop link wearing, I recently replaced mine, I was getting a rattling sound. They are part of the anti roll system.
Past cars Mercedes B Class, S Class, E Class Estate, E Class Coupe, G Wagen, 260E interspersed with Peugeot 406 and Audi Coupe.
