Since getting my QQ I have noticed a loud howling whirr when started from cold. I assumed it was belt related and due to the very cold weather, but the noise is still there and doesn't change or alter even when water is trickled onto the belt. It largely goes away after a while once the engine is warmed up, but is still slightly present.
Anyone else notice this on theirs?
( While I'm asking/moaning, the gearbox whines in all gears and the engine sounds very primitive when approaching 2000rpm - normal for these cars?)
It's a 2008 2.0L petrol, manual with 40k on the clock.
Howling whirr when cold.
Hi, just got saw your message but no notification in my email? Must check my settings.
It has been serviced regularly, even if the mileage hasn't warranted it, which is why I chose it despite it's age. I'll have a look at another one to compare, maybe they all do it?
