Engine knocking noise after timing belt replaced

Recently bought a 2010 1.5 dci N-tec and sent it to Nissan over a week ago for timing belt and water pump change. Since we got it back it has a knocking noise from the engine which goes away once up to temp. Could this be related to the timing belt as we never noticed it before.

I would just phone Nissan up & arrange for them to fix it, as it not normal to have a knocking noise. If the fault was not there when you took it in, chances are they did not put it back together correctly. I would do this as soon as possible.

Very wise getting the timing belt changed, mine failed at 36,000 miles and just 4 years old. If the timing is out by one tooth on the belt
it could cause it to knock.
