Hello, just joined this forum in the hope that someone can help me before I spend lots of money letting garages 'investigate'.
I recently bought a second hand Qashqai 2Ltd petrol for my wife. I have noticed that when putting the car into 3Rd direct from another gear it makes a small crunch. The way to get around this is to move into neutral for a second and then into 3rd, this eliminates the crunch but is not n efficient way to drive, Especially when accelerating.
I have read on another post that changing the gearbox oil mat help? But feels to me like the car has to wait for the engine speed to decrease before going into 3Rd.
As you can tell by the way I describe the problem, I do not know a great deal so be gentle!
Your hopefully,
Al
Gear crunch into 3rd
My first thought would be a gearbox synchromesh problem, But I am no expert ,but that's what matches the revs to make a clean change . If it has any Guarantee take it back let them sort it, sorry I cannot be more definite.

Do you have a local gearbox specialist you could ask for an opinion there are generally at least one in the area , google it, they would probably give an opinion for free rather then use the main dealership who don't do owt for nowt.
