I am ashamed to say I stalled the car today but it automatically restarted, I got away without my passenger noticing

Hehe don't be ashamed! It took me a while to get used to the right revs and bite point of my 1.5 too, and I've stalled a couple of times in my attempts to pull away with minimal revs thinking I was saving fuel. At first I thought that unlike my old petrol car, there just wasn't enough low end torque to move off by just slipping the clutch without any throttle - but with practice, I've got that sussed now, and it will. That's not about saving fuel so much as getting away slowly in crawling traffic so as not to have to apply the brakes again almost instantly.
