There was a technical bulletin from Nissan issued, which exactly address this fault: "TB EL 14/07 - Release Date: 21 JUL 2014 - Front Sonar False Detection". (THIS IS FOR FRONT SENSORS ONLY BUT MAY BE LINKED!)
There was also bulletin issued for rear sensors, addressing false positive alarm when towbar is fitted. Sensitivity can still be adjusted, however it is not the best solution if sensors quality is a case.

Similar problem with the front sensors on mine. Problem occurred after washing the vehicle, even after I'd dried the sensors. Also occurred for no obvious reason when the road conditions and the vehicle were dry.
It's booked in next week to be looked at.
