Suggestions & Help using the Nissan QashQai Forums

Hello Everyone!

Thanks. I actually took a look at Simple Machines Forums, Vanilla Forums, Vbulletin etc. and PHPBB seemed to be the best middle ground, all have pros and cons really.

I'm almost ready to start porting data over, I plan on doing a number of ports, testing what will / won't move over and coming up with a few plans.

I already know passwords won't transfer but will post something up about that shortly.

I don't envy you one bit. I migrated an old ubb threads forum to phpbb3 about 2 years ago and it was an absolute nightmare ..I still cringe when I think about it!
if I had to do it again id probably pay one of the companies that specialise in that kind of thing to do it for me
The good thing about PHPBB3 is it's very well supported so even if you did decide to migrate to SMF or Vbulletin etc at a later date you could do it with relieve ease as there are a lot of scripts out there that will do the hard work for you.

I did have a quick look to see if there was a ready made script to do the conversion to save you time but, from web wiz..but only found one for vers 7.9 and 8 (and you probably already looked anyway)

Anyhow I hope it all goes well, Good look

Rob - Excuse the bluntness/manners but every time I open this link I obviously see your 'picture' and it has me wondering - how good a likeness would that be?
Tekna CVT 1.6 Magnetic Red - born 4/4/14 P/X 25/10/2015 for £19k with 12,000 on the clock - great car but time to change. No problems whatsoever in those 18 month's.

Don't know whether to start a new thread or not.

Anyone else having problems with the site yesterday?

Kept getting error 522, site slow and crashing.

Other websites fine.

Rob,

Any chance of putting in a feature whereby users can hide posts from specified members?

It is actually a feature in the new forum software we'll be switching to shortly. Although I would hope you don't have to block too many people...
