Hi, first time poster, wondering if anyone could help. I've got a Qashqai 2008 and the air con unit is not functioning correctly. Well, it does and it doesn't. The air con actually works BUT most of the buttons on the unit do not. Firstly I'm not able to turn it on or off and secondly I can't change from defrost to anything else (using the bottom buttons).
Here's a photo i found showing the unit I have - http://www.boutiquedellautoradio.it/wp- ... alpine.jpg (I just googled it). I've spoken to a Nissan dealer and they will look at it for £70 but I'm just wondering if there's an easier, less expensive way to fix.

If buttons aren't working on the heater/aircon control panel, and you've already checked obvious stuff like fuses and relays, you could buy a used unit for less than half the price Nissan wants to inspect yours.
