Dave the problem is that other party cannot hear him (me) properly as my voice mixes with car noise (body vibration, road noise, wind noise). I can hear pretty clear even on low volume while I'm driving. I doubt this as a phone issue (but could be) as a phone microphone is inactive while BT connected to Connect.

I am beginning to think I have a different QQ as my problems do not exist. Today my brother who has two hearing aids phoned on his mobile from Madiera Spain (about 2000kms away) and I answered in the QQ and had to turn the volume way down as he was too damn loud. Now my better half tells me I need a hearing aid but not today. I then phoned home from the QQ and left a message whilst traveling at 80kms and I understood everything - perhaps I am a lucky one or just misunderstanding the problem - Dave ;)

Just to clarify the issue is that the person I am calling is unable to hear me clearly any time my speed gets up due to a lot of background noise.

I am able to hear them perfectly well.

I am using an iPhone 6 connected via Bluetooth. Normal Bluetooth earpieces work okay so I am led to the conclusion that it is the microphone in the car that is at fault. I must admit I haven't tried a different phone to rule it out. Might try and give it a go just to check.

As they've apparently upgraded the software already for the radio system due to previous constant crashes etc I'm guessing it's a hardware fault.

Haven't taken car in to the garage yet as I'm waiting to hear back from them regarding my warranty claim for dodgy paint on the roof rail ends which is another issue well documented here it seems.

Hi,
Just bought a J11 QQ and you are right, there is a tremendous amount of background noise when using bluetooth, so much so that at anything over 50mph, you can hardly hear the person speak.I have not had this with other makes Audi and Ford and so have been surprised. Can only presume there is no sound suppression in the software used by the microphone on the Nissan connect system. Something I presume a software update could resolve. Can't see any point in changing the microphone, this will not solve the issuewithout the suppression software that other mamufacturers use.

I've also found that the microphone quality on QQ is s*it -- no better word for it. One thing I could explain this with is that I have a glass roof and others, who find the quality being better, don't (or do they?). The other thing is that I have generally accepted that this car is sort of a Western version of Lada. Everything about it seems to be third rate. It looks good and I like the way it handles, but that's about it.

Seems to be a longstanding issue:

I wonder if retrofitting something like this would be an answer?

I have e-mailed Nissan over this ongoing issue and been advised that Nissan Connect may need a software update. Don't know if others have had this and whether it makes any difference? Anyway car booked in at dealers next week, so will update with the result.

Solved the iphone 6 connection problem by following pairing advice for this mobile phone by other forum members and seaching on the internet on how to cancel a pairing. Basically had to remove Nissan connect from the iphone 6's bluetooth connected device list. (The phone had previously been paired without problems prior to installing the latest Connect software update to resolve the microphone issue, so clearly this was causing the problem as the mobile also needed a reset). Once I had done this I followed the usual procedure to connect a new phone, it identified Nissan Connect and it connected straight away. Now to see if the updated software has improved the microphone reception...
