W Rated Tyres

The 19 inch tyres on the Tekna are rated "W" see the table below for speed rating."W" rated tyres seem over specified and are not cheap to replace, is there a known reason for fitting these and what are the consequences of fitting a lower rated tyre when you replace? Assuming lower rated are available of course. Id love to see a Tekna achieve a U rating myself, its not a fast car if it was it would be on the Nissan Brag listW rated tyre lol might have something to do with the manufactures thinking of people replacing them down the line and the income it generates

I haven't found the tyre specs on the Nissan website. Depends whether that is the specified rating or an over specified one was fitted.
