Tyre Costs 2017
Thanks to this forum I used the Nexen N Fera SU1 on my Tekna last tyre change for the two rears. They've been fantastic with no noticeable difference to the Continentals. They're also available via ATS for £101.15 fully fitted.
2014 1.2 DIG-T Tekna, Gunmetal
Thanks for the head-up regarding ATS. I usually find them really expensive but just had a look and the price on these is very good

For some reason my 2016 model QQ has Michellin Primacy 3 tyres fitted all round (all the QQs I have seen to date have Continentals, unless there was a change of supplier in May 2016?)

Beetroot42, we had a similiar question when we picked our new 2014 QQ up as it had Dunlop Sport MAXX fitted where as the " STD" where Continental's. It was most probably one of those so called "Country" Specs - Dave

Beetroot,
Chances are the tyre brand was changed to save money, not improve the car. Michelin have always been my tyre of choice as they tend to perform better than most in all aspects of performance.

Whilst I was in the dealership (waiting for my car to be serviced) I spoke to the sales guy about the Qashqai in the show room having Dunlop tyres. His reply shocked me when he said he thinks Nissan changed supplier due to the original Continentals having excessive wear.
I bet Nissan have never officially said that !

Monkeywba, I did ask our Dealer recently on the Tyre differences and he mentioned that in his opinion the difference in Tyres was a cost factor reason - cheapest gets the order .
If you look at the Brochures for the new J11B you will find Dunlop Sport MAXX are installed - Dave

I've just paid £145 at Kwik fit for a Continental 215 - 55 - 18. They now charge £14.99 for a tyre fitting package plus tracking of £49.95. Grand total £209-94.
As far as I'm concerned the car came with Continentals so I'll replace them like for like.
