Hello

I was appalled to find my new Qashqai does not have a spare wheel (those filler/blow up tyres kits are sh*&e).
Can anyone tell me if:
1 A new 19inch spare fits in the boot...and where to get one at a reasonable price
2 Are those emergency thin spares any good and do they fit in the boot?

Looking forward to some answers from fellow owners

Cheers

George

I have a spare wheel that I bought for my J10 and when I swapped to the new J 11 all I needed was a new wheel brace and the two polystyrene sides . I've never needed to use it but it all fitted perfectly. In the J11 the boot floor is raised. If anyone wants to buy it all I will gladly sell, it's all un used.

Hi.

I too hate those ridiculous emergency inflation kits, so when buying my new QQ the other week insisted the deal to include a space saver spare wheel kit, jack etc. I can confirm the spare has no impact on boot space and I feel far more happier driving around with a spare in the boot instead of a bottle of gunge.

I requested my dealer supply a spare space saver wheel kit with jack etc, when I purchased my Qashqai last October, cost me £200, also have the gunge, feel much safer with the spare wheel in the boot, fits no problem.

thanks for all of your help....one more Q. My wheels are 19 inch alloys (low profile) do I have to get a 19inch space saver wheel or will any 5 nut wheel do for emergency use?

The same space saver fits all models - however the boot floor is raised slightly so capacity does decrease slightly.

I'm trying to remember when the last time I had to use a spare wheel for anything other than swapping wheels around - I think it was about 1996/7... I hit a traffic island curb at speed (at night - no illuminated bollard) and bent the steel wheel.
