Like many others on here we started trying to source winter wheels, tyres ans tyre presure sensors (TPMS or RDKS if you order them from Germany). We were lucky enough to find some nice looking 17inch nissan alloys on ebay that had been taken off a brand new Juke in order to fit a larger size wheel and were as new. Having ordered and paid for them the next task was to try and find a cheapest supplier for 4 TPMS.Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/181596912091? ... DX%3AITset of 4 172.50euro (£136.64) they replied with a postage cost to France of 13euros from Germany. The listing also had a picture of the packaging which I then used to source the manufacturer (VDO) who are part of the Continental tyre group (which makes sence what with the car having Contiental tyres). I had a look on the VDO website to see if they sell direct, which they don't. However they do have a pdf that gives the reference for all of the cars and their associated TPMS. The aftermarket order number for the Qashqai is S180052048Z I then found this German supplierhttp://www.reifen-schreiber.de/shop/Detail.php ... %2FNotewho are even cheaper 47.50euros each although I dont know if they ship. And finally the cheapesthttp://www.gtasport.com/valve-tpms-p-104391.htmlwho are a French supplier and sell at 39.80 euros each.OK so after all my research the wheels arrived and....... they already had TPMS valves on them. Yipeeeeee I thought, but now I have a doubt, If they came off a Juke will they be recognised by the Qashqai?Second question which size tyre should go on the wheel 215 55 R17 or 215 60 R17 and what is the difference? the alloy is a 17 inch Nissan Kuro Ref 99998-50026

The TPMS sensor can be reprogrammed according to a local Nissan dealer I contacted. My 17" wheels are 215 / 60 / 17 / H096. The side profile number is the size of the sidewall on the tyre.

VDO S180052048Z have a recommended retail price, inclusive of VAT, of £40 but most motor factors [there are several near you everywhere in the UK"]] sell them for £30 or less.

Thanks MJCQQ, I probably should have worded it better as yes I realise that the mid number i.e 55 or 60 was the sidewall size , I was just interested to know the advantages of one over another.
Second question which size tyre should go on the wheel 215 55 R17 or 215 60 R17 and what is the difference?
Having 215/55 on would result in the speed actually being around 5km less than what would your speedo tell you when driving at around 100 kmph. You can, however, put on 225/55/17 -- accepted by Nissan or so my dealer told me. The reason to have them is because they are more common and thus cheaper. The downside is that there is a bigger empty space in the wheel arch and the car doesn't look that good.

I also have a set of 17" Juke wheels for my winter tyres. I hung on to them when the Juke was traded in for the QQ. 215/60 R17 is the correct size for these wheels and I would stick to this. The wheels are going to look small in the arches on 215/55 tyres and as already said it does put the speedo out.I am running Dunlop Winter Sport 4D tyres and very pleased with them.

I have the same solution (same 4D tyres), albeit with QQ "17" wheels bought off eBay - look just fine to me. Just about all of this is answered and discussed in great detail on the Winter Tyres thread.

Tekna CVT 1.6 Magnetic Red - born 4/4/14 P/X 25/10/2015 for £19k with 12,000 on the clock - great car but time to change. No problems whatsoever in those 18 month's.

Much is both discussed and answered in the "winter tyres" thread with some quoting the use of 215/55 R17 and 215/60 R17 but nowhere could I find it explaing the advantages of one over another. However I still refer to my original post and the first question of whether anyone had any experience in using a Juke wheel with a factory TPMS on a Qashqai. MJCQQ has stated that "The TPMS sensor can be reprogrammed according to a local Nissan dealer I contacted" although I have my doubts as if this was the case the main manufacturer VDO would not list the different TPMS's that they sell with specific part numbers according to manufacturer or model of car. Incidentally their parts list does not list any TPMS for the Juke which is why I have no idea if is the same or would work on a qashqai. I think I will just have to bite the bullet, take of the Juke TPMS and invest 130euros in a set of qashqai specific TPMS.

Sorry if it was not clear but that is what I am doing. Juke wheels with TPMS fitted. As long as the car is fitted with TPMS it will read the Nissan sensors.Works perfectly and no problems.
