Just don't forget that the ALA product featured here requires you to take out the cover within the first 180 days of ownership. So if your motor insurance policy pays out the full purchase price for the first year or two, it's not an option to go to ALA at the 2nd anniversary.

I'm in this situation so have made a diary note to visit the ALA site again just before my QQ's 180 day birthday

Looking at the Alloy Wheel cover I don't think the wheels on the Tekna model are covered ?"Cover restricted to the original manufacturer specification of alloy wheel for your car, excluding diamond (laser) cut rims, split rim construction, or with polished or chrome effect finishes"

Thanks for this tread learned a bit. Put a thread up I. Idle chit chat before seeing this sorry guys.

Nissan wanted £370 for 3 years cover way too much. But i also wasn't impressed with their fritening tackics about if my car was written off the loan company would demand full payment asap. it wasn't so much what they said but how it was said.. Plus I was asking for GAP as I know the risks there are some right nutters out there and it's best to cover your options so there was no need for they way they spoke.

Frank Pickles has quoted 152.22 for replacement. An 127.71 for invoice

ALA quote 180.50 for replacement. All 3 yrs an 15000 claim limits

If you have any experiences I'd be interested in them. Clock ticking on the 180 days ....

Cheers

Just wanted to say. I just got 5 years vehicle replacement with £22,500 of cover for £276 from ALA. They price matched GapInsurance123 and gave me an extra bit off. Really impressed with their customer service, they explained everything really well and were able to answer all my questions really clearly.

First post on the forum so please be kind :D
Just pulled the trigger on a Tenka 1.5 Di magnetic red and been offered gap insurance from the stealer.
Fishing around and it's obvious it can be obtained cheaper from others.
My insurance co offers new replacement in the first year, so would it be better to go for deferred start?
Ala say it is not because the insurance company could still refuse to pay for any reason. " confused"

Also just copied this fromm Ala site,

The European Union (excluding the UK), Croatia, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Andorra and Isle of Man also within the Territorial Limits where the cover available under Your Motor Insurance Policy when the Vehicle is in the European Union (excluding the UK), Croatia, Iceland, Norway, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Andorra and/or Isle of Man is the same as or equivalent to the cover You would have enjoyed if the Vehicle had been in the UK, or the Channel Islands.

To me it says as long as we are in the EU you are covered. ( probably reading more into this than is there)
What happens IF we leave the EU? Will the gap insurance be null and void if you travel abroad?

I got quite a scary call from Nissan Finance as well about this. I agree with the earlier comment about their frightening tactics. So I took out 4 years of cover for £20,000 from ALA. Cost £192, and because I bought it online via the TopCashback web site I got £21 cashback as well, so real cost only £171.
