First thoughts 1.6 dci QQ SE

Bought after professional inspection, I must confess to be impressed. (The first example I checked turned out to have a shot DMF so rejected) After oil change, and brake pads self renewed front and back, I'm ready to go.) 70k kms., a carhire disposable.
The SE has pretty well all I would want, electric heated folding mirrors, rear sensors, front heated seats, Stop Start which I dissable on every trip and rain sensitive wipers, which I must be very careful to not select in winter.
The front seats are alright, but my bum, though smallish, feals a little constricted.
Economy is good, but having a speedo read + 7 at 90km. is not good.
I fitted slightly oversized tires to get the odometer correct and reduce the speedo error.
So what am I not so happy with?
Only one 12 volt outlet. A lot of work to get to the front spotlights.
And the diesel fuel consumption readout overreads, giving 5.3 L100km., when genuine is 6.0 actual, but all manufacturers mislead , I expect.
A more technical overview will emerge soon.

Welcome! Not sure what an SE is. Irish model?

I thought all J11s had two 12v sockets. One in front of the gearstick, one inside the centre console.

Hound, this could be the area an SE comes from, I am sure Thrall will confirm though, is it also a J11 or older model ?. Irish models are normally classified as XE / SV / SVE with the Premium names etc - I could well be wrong ! - Dave ;)

Can I ask why?

Speedo over reading isnt a problem, or indeed a fault, as they do on most vehicles. I'm the same as switchback, why disable stop/start? It works well.

Dave, you could well be right about our friend having an older model, but with the question being posted in the J11 section I made a guess. As for stop/start, I sometimes turn it off; it can become annoying and disconcerting when the engine cuts out just when you don't want it to!

Sorry I forgot to mention the model, 2014, and the area - Iceland. It has 17" alloys.
Although I appreciate there would be slight environmental benefits, my normal driving means only about six stops in traffic each day, and my real concern is DMF life expectancy. Having been driven 70k. kms by various car hire drivers, I wish to do all I can to preserve the DMF, and one of the recognised wearing points is switching off in neutral, as then the jerks as the crank stops with the gearbox main shaft connected put more load on the DMF. Renault state that the stop/start is engineered for the life of the engine, ie 410000 stops in 300000 kms., but I fear the DMF to be a weak link in the system and intend to take no chances, having nearly bought a QQ with a shot DMF which Nisson I heard later, replaced under warranty.

As to the USB in the centre console, I assume it is for MP3 use, as it certainly doesn't charge my 'phone. :(

Thrail, I have taken a look at the Nissan UK QQ website and found the following specs :

Visia Spec : Audio - AUX socket for M3 Players / Remote audio control / Bluetooth
Acenta Spec : as Visia + - Audio USB port
This could well mean there is a mix up in specs and you have not got what you thought you had, I tried the Icelandic website but could not understand a word of it :D , perhaps this might help you or contact your local Dealer - Dave ;)

Thank you, the handbook mentions an "aux socket for a jack, e.g. MP3 player" but in fact there is a USB socket which I doubt I will ever use, as I am a retired orchestral musician and prefer silence, and yes, the QQ is quiet. Bluetooth I have, rainsensor and 4WD.
The QQ SE was sold here in Iceland from 2007 - 2014, the vast majority 4WD and very popular, but since then we have seen the models on sale in UK.
