I work for an Automotive company that supplies car glass to the Aftermarket so OE spares and other Automotive glass replacement companies (I used to work at our OE production plant supplying Nissan OE at Sunderland). Our company do not supply the new QQ WS but we do supply other parts of the new QQ glass. If a customer forecasts /orders a part we will forecast and order from our Production plants or our external vendors and if the Plant or external vendor has capacity issues or cannot supply on time for any reason then they cannot give us a date so we cannot give the customer a date. The customers order is then classed as a back order to us and they have to tell their customer its on back order as they too have no date. We never ever failed Nissan we kept extra stock in an external warehouse next to their plant to ensure we never failed them as they charge hundreds of thousands of pounds if you stop their track. If the dealer is saying he cant give a date I suspect that there are so many on order they do not know when they can fit it into the production schedule at that time so it is classed as a back order. If it is a version of the QQ where they were not expecting so many to be ordered of then they may not have enough components on order to meet the excess demand so therefore cannot give a delivery date. I agree the lead time they have given me is fine. If they do not meet the date then I will have to wait a while longer but I am not desperate for the change of car luckily which makes a big difference in delays getting you mad if your current vehicle is no longer suitable for your needs.

Lol love you quickly getting the fact your company not responsible for delays mate save you getting lynched here Normaly these big hyper companies have contracts with suppliers that can bankrupt them if they drop the ball and make sure they pay a pittance to obtain the goods lolIve said before I got my car and still say it if your waiting then your going to get a better car than the earlier ones simply as they should iron out any defects No arguement the cars a sucess it might of helped if they launched it to diffrent markets at diffrent times to be honest but again the problem is Nissans not the customers and if they started taking less orders maybe that might help and look into why some companies seem to promote the fact they can deliver within a month and seem to actualy do that to stop some of the bad feeling
Someone I work with had a Skoda on order (company car for lease) and was given three dates then months later when none of the dates were met was told sorry we now have no date. They cancelled the order and ordered a completely different make.Long gone are the days where thousands of cars were just made and stuck on car parks for years waiting for someone to order them so cars are being made to order and this does cause delays. JIT is sometimes just too late! I could do with the handbook and a practise car to learn all the gadgets in though before I get the car ha ha! I am still waiting for more photos from you of your bronze beauty!

Ill get my pics up tomorrow the idea went right out my headAs a boy I grew up in Dagenham and remember frog island, 1000s of cars were there for years all prebuilt those were the days you could get a good deal on a new carOn topic diffrent question thoughIf something were to happen to our new pride n joys and cars written off what do we do?If its damaged then you get a curtosey car but written off cant see the insurance paying us out then allowing a loan car for months whilst we await a replacementThats a worrying thought something happening to our cars getting an insurance cheque then having to buy a car until a new cars been made
Ford Dagenham (Fiesta), Halewood (Escort) and Southampton (Transit) were also customers of mine many moons ago.Touch wood I have never had a car written off so absolutely no idea what would happen but I really would hope we would get a courtesy car for however long it took to replace the car?? but then again as the AP changes every quarter would you get the same car for the price you paid, maybe not??

I think the Q3 APs will come down again when the demand has quietened down a bit and the factory can keep up. Plus we will probably have the QQ on steroids or new X-Trail as Nissan like to call it available then as well.
