Agree with you Dave, there's a couple of youths who live nearby and you can here their sub-woofer a quarter of a mile away before they arrive, and if they park on their drives/road it almost drowns out the sound of our TV indoors. There is no way they would here emergency sirens let alone a warning horn form another car.[/QUOTE]
Don't start me off on this one, my pet hate and do not understand the reason or logic for it. Then as you rightly say there is the safety issues. Mindless and soon to be deaf.

This is funny to me.The worst offender on our estate is in his mid 30's and drives a people carrier.I can hear him coming from a mile away and he thinks he's in an ibiza nightclub. The yoof by and large are more interested in the exhausts you can drive a mini up.

I do wonder if it's some sort of devilish spiral. They fit an exhaust the size of the Dartford Tunnel then can't hear the radio so in go the speakers and boom box etc. Oops, now I can't hear the exhaust - and so on.......

I have the 1.5 tekna and find it a dream on the motor way. My last car was a passat sport not quite the same performance but the Qashqia is a nice drive

At the point in time that most of the Reviews were done the 1.6 engine was still very much work-in-progress and by the time production commenced in February all well sorted. To my mind the 1.6 is the cream of the crop and the only one suited to either CVT or 4x4. I certainly like it, a lot, and it is not noisy at all. There again I moved across from an X-Trail 2.3D so what would I know, that really did clatter!
Tekna CVT 1.6 Magnetic Red - born 4/4/14 P/X 25/10/2015 for £19k with 12,000 on the clock - great car but time to change. No problems whatsoever in those 18 month's.
